2014 Zotovich Zinovich Zinfandel

Christian Tietje hat mit dem "Naked Chardonnay", dem ersten richtig erfolgreichen Unoaked-Chardonnay Label, viel Geld verdient und sich damit nicht zur Ruhe gesetzt, sondern sich einen Traum mit seiner "Cypher Winery" erfüllt, wo er nur noch macht, woran er Spaß hat.

Der Wein ist ein gleichzeitig vollmundiger und lebendiger Zinfandel, dabei aber auch elegant. Blaubeeren, rote Beeren, Cranberrysauce, schwarze Lakritze, rote Pflaume, Sternanis, Colabeeren, Fenchelsamen und ein Hauch frischer Kräuter machen den Wein zu einem echten Zinfandel-Erlebnis. Enjoy!

Vintage notes:
2014 stared out with a little rain and light frost early in Spring, but after that, the weather was warm and even all the way through harvest.
Even with the draught situation in California, yields in 2014 were above average as was quality.

Clevernger Ranch is recognized as one of the top Zinfandel Vineyards in Paso Robles, and with 2014 being an expectional year for Zin, we are very pleased with this bottling. A rich, complex and multilayered Zin, with loads of red currant and blackberry fruit flavors, surrounded in layer after layer of spice. A true Zin for true Zin fans, this is a textbook wine from California’s heritage grape.
